The accumulation of fat below the eyes and the sagging skin caused by that fat can be improved with lower blepharoplasty, which is one of the most satisfying surgeries for a smoother under-eye area.
The primary purpose of lower blepharoplasty is to improve sagging fat and skin, but did you know that it can also make your eyes look bigger?
While it may not create the same dramatic change as eye surgery, you can expect a natural enlargement of your eyes along with the improvement of the under-eye area. Let’s take a look at before-and-after photos of patients who have undergone lower blepharoplasty at our clinic to discuss this effect.

First, if we look at the effects of the lower blepharoplasty, we can see that the fine wrinkles under the eyes have been improved. In cases where there is slight eyeball protrusion and reduced elasticity, especially in Western patients, extra care is needed to prevent the eyes from turning inside out.
In the case of the patient shown above, we can confirm that the surgery was performed neatly without any complications, such as the eyes turning inside out.
The key point here is the enlargement of the white part of the eye behind the iris. This is the key feature of our "eyes-getting-bigger" lower blepharoplasty.
The lower blepharoplasty that makes the eyes look bigger works by smoothing out the under-eye area while naturally enhancing the size of the eyes.
In the case of the patient above, lower blepharoplasty was performed along with upper blepharoplasty and ptosis correction surgery.
While the upper blepharoplasty affects the upper eye area, we can see that the lower blepharoplasty has smoothed out the skin under the eyes, and the area behind the eyes has become noticeably larger as well.
