Hello, this is SoonPlus Plastic Surgery.
In this post, we'll be sharing the recovery process of a patient who underwent incisional double eyelid surgery along with upper eyelid fat grafting at our clinic. You’ll be able to follow her progress from pre-surgery to 4 months after the procedure in the video.
The patient is a middle-aged woman, and before the surgery, you can see that her upper eyelid shows significant fat loss.
Because her eyes were deeply hollowed, her double eyelid line was faint and uneven, appearing in multiple layers.
For this patient, the fat grafting procedure needed to be done carefully, and there are two main methods for upper eyelid fat grafting:
The first method involves using a syringe to inject the fat into the skin layer.
The second method is an incision technique, where the fat is placed into the fat pocket through a small incision.
For patients with this level of fat loss in the upper eyelids, the incision method is essential.
In cases like this, where the fat has contracted and risen, the first step is to release the fat and then carefully graft it into the fat pocket. This ensures that a sufficient amount of fat can be placed evenly without creating lumps or unevenness.
If you look at the post-op video, you’ll notice that even though only one session of fat grafting was done, the hollow areas have been mostly corrected after releasing the contracted fat.
For the fat graft to successfully take, we recommend avoiding weight loss after the surgery. In fact, it’s better to gain a bit of weight to help the fat settle and integrate.
(Note: As with any surgery or procedure, there may be risks of bleeding, infection, inflammation, or other side effects. Results and satisfaction can vary from person to person.)
