In this post, we will take a look at the video of a patient who underwent epicanthoplasty scar removal surgery at our clinic, showing their condition before surgery and 4 months after the surgery.
This patient had already undergone several eye surgeries before, including epicanthoplasty and other eyelid surgeries.
They came to us after struggling with the scarring from their previous epicanthoplasty.
The scars were visible both when their eyes were open and closed,
and we could also see that the starting line of their double eyelids was unnatural due to the scar from the epicanthoplasty.
At our clinic, we performed scar removal surgery to restore the area.
Our epicanthoplasty scar removal procedure is designed by analyzing the amount of scar exposure and the shape of the inner corner of the eye, creating a look that suits each individual patient. For a highly refined scar removal outcome,
it’s important to have some skin elasticity and for the surgeon’s technique to be effective.
Epicanthoplasty scars can be more prone to scarring because the skin at the inner corner of the eye is more delicate than other areas. When it's possible to completely remove the scar, we directly remove the scar, but if that's not possible,
we aim to blur the scar as much as possible.
In cases where there is a Mongolian fold or scar correction needed after a restoration surgery,
we need to apply the correct plan depending on the patient's eye condition, skin elasticity, and other factors.
