Hello, this is Soonplus Plastic Surgery.
Today, I would like to talk about another effect of lower blepharoplasty, which is enlarging the eyes. We will discuss this through before and after photos of Korean and American patients who have undergone the surgery at our clinic.
The patient above is on the 7th day after lower blepharoplasty, after the sutures have been removed.
First, let's look at the effects of lower blepharoplasty. We can see an improvement in the fine wrinkles around the eyes. For cases like the patient above, where there is eyeball protrusion and reduced skin elasticity—especially in Western patients—it is important to be careful during surgery to avoid the eyelids turning outwards.
As we can see in this case, the lower eyelid was done cleanly without any turning outwards.
An important point to note here is the enlarged sclera (the white part of the eye) visible behind the eyes. This is a key feature of our eye-enlarging lower blepharoplasty.
With our lower blepharoplasty designed to enlarge the eyes, we can both smooth out the area under the eyes and create a visible enlargement of the eyes.
In the case of the patient above, in addition to the lower blepharoplasty, upper eyelid surgery and ptosis correction were performed simultaneously. Excluding the upper eyelid (the eyelid fold line), you can clearly see the effect of the lower blepharoplasty and the enlargement of the eyes behind.
(Please note that complications such as bleeding, infection, inflammation, and side effects may occur after surgery or procedures. Surgical outcomes and satisfaction may vary from person to person.)
